MedicineWatch India

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Making public drug alerts easier to use.

MedicineWatch India is an independent search tool for published medicine quality alerts from CDSCO, India's drug regulator.

The important distinction: a medicine not found here has not been certified safe. It means only that the batch number was not found in the alerts currently indexed by this site.

What MedicineWatch does

01

Search the alerts

Search by batch number, medicine name, or manufacturer and find the matching published records.

02

Explain the result

Each result shows the classification, reporting month, manufacturer, and the quality issue recorded by the source.

03

Point back to the source

MedicineWatch organises public records. It does not create a new safety rating, investigate medicines, or replace advice from a doctor or pharmacist.

Who it is for

  • People checking a medicine batch before use
  • Pharmacists checking stock and records
  • Clinicians, journalists, and researchers exploring alerts

What it cannot tell you

  • Whether a medicine is safe, genuine, or approved
  • Whether a product has been withdrawn or recalled
  • Whether a medicine will cause or explain a symptom

Source and independence

MedicineWatch India indexes public alert records from CDSCO, India's drug regulator. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with CDSCO or any government body.

The site stores alert records to make them searchable. It does not sell personal information.

Found a problem?

If an alert appears incorrect, first compare it with the original notice, then use our corrections page to see how to report it.

If you suspect a fake or harmful medicine, contact a pharmacist or doctor and report it directly through the official CDSCO website ↗.
